Family Law Information Centre (FLIC)

Located in each family court in Peterborough, Lindsay, and Cobourg, our family law mediator and an information and referral coordinator will be available most days. Whether you are looking for brief mediation around a narrow issue or need information related to separation, divorce, or the court process, we are here to help.

We are also able to provide you with information on other community services. Our staff has developed links with the local legal community and act as a resource for lawyers, judges, court staff and any other interested party seeking referrals to community resources and services. There are no fees for any of the services provided at the family law information centre.

Virtual FLIC and Advice Lawyer

We are now offering a virtual FLIC in partnership with Legal Aid Ontario. This service is available to anyone in the four counties and it is a FREE first-come-first-served service held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00am-1:00pm. We will have one of our Information Referral Coordinators available as well as an Advice Lawyer. These professionals can assist with summary legal advice, information on separation, divorce, Family Law and the court process, as well as resources and community referrals. In-person Advice Counsel has returned to our three court locations on limited-scope basis to compliment our virtual services. An Information Referral Coordinator and an Advice Lawyer will be present and available to meet you on a walk-in basis. There is no charge for this service.
